General tips for using large lures in brackish water:

Rinse thoroughly: Always rinse your lures with fresh water after every use to remove salt, which will extend their life and prevent corrosion (I always say it but never do myself)
Match the hatch: Pay attention to the size and type of baitfish in the area and select a lure that imitates them to increase your chances of success.
Vary your retrieve: For topwater lures, try a “walk-the-dog” action with short twitches and pauses.
Target cover: Large lures are particularly effective when fished near structure, such as submerged timber, weed beds, and mangrove roots, as they can attract a variety of predatory fish. I will most often fish exactly where it gets tangled, and will lose baits but that’s where the fish is!
