Beechwood Lures

Why we use Beechwood for our lures
  • Workability: Beechwood is a hard, yet relatively easy wood to carve, machine, and sand, making it a good material for detailed shaping.
  • Density & Action: It is a medium-heavy wood, with a density typically between 600 and 750 kg/m³. This is our go to choice for lures as they can be made to dive deeper or sink at a controlled rate
  • Water Resistance (Natural): Once sealed properly with epoxy it is highly resistant to moisture. This prevents water absorption
  1. Hardware: Due to its hardness, all hook hangers and tow points are securely installed.
  2. Action: The medium density of beechwood means we use less added weight to achieve a specific diving or sinking action compared to a lighter wood like balsa.
